Course Description
Rancho Park Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 71 championship course playing at 6,839 yards, designed by William Johnson and William P. Bell. Rancho Park opened with the 1949 U.S.G.A. Public Links Championship and has been host to eighteen Los Angeles Opens as well as numerous LPGA and Senior tour events between 1978 and 1994. The golf course is a challenging and undulating course requiring a great deal of skill. A variety of lies provide a challenge, especially on approach shots to smallish greens.

With over 30 years of experience in teaching and playing golf, Derrick Allen has become a trusted name in the golfing world. He has worked with thousands of students, from aspiring junior players to accomplished professionals and celebrities. Among his notable clients are President Bill Clinton, Morgan Freeman, David Duchovny, and Steve Harvey, to name just a few. The list continues with renowned figures from the worlds of entertainment, sports, and media, such as Rick Fox, Mandy Patinkin, and Piers Morgan.
Derrick’s influence has been far-reaching. Two of his junior golfers were once ranked first in their age brackets in Southern California, and one of his former students became a Los Angeles City Champion, earning a scholarship to UCLA and later competing on the LPGA’s Futures Tour.
As a former head coach for the varsity golf teams at Crossroads School and Marymount High School, Derrick has also made a significant impact on high school athletics, fostering talent and instilling discipline and confidence in young players.
